del.icio.us becomes Delicious: closed preview,...
I was invited to try out the preview of the revamped Delicious social bookmarking service. First of all: the name change is crucial. Nobody is going to use a service with a crazy url like del.icio.us. No way. delicious.com is much better. I’m exploring the service as I go along. Right now I’m reading the Terms of Service to check if it’s ok to post some screeshots. I can’t find anything...

Autumn pictures
Some pictures I took with my new Ricoh GX100 with the wide angle adapter DW-6. Shooting with an extreme wide angle is a really different experience. Very refreshing, but I guess the novelty will wear off. I played around a bit in post-processing on these, just for fun. Secret Office
Yesterday we found a hidden room at the office. Unikum shares a floor of an old office building with several other small companies. We have two small rooms and we’re usually 4 or five people at the office. We’ve recently started feeling a little crowded and we need to grow even more. Things are moving really fast, with phones ringing, discussions being had across the office, coffee being...

Linux kicks arse! Ubuntu 7.10 released.
The developers at Unikum were all giggly the other day. Some of them have been eying my Mac with distrust, and have pretended not to be very impressed with the snazzy interface, transparencies and animations. Now they were giggling. With glee. It turns out Ubuntu 7.10 ‘Gutsy’ has just been released and it looks absolutely amazing! Sure, there is a lot of polishing to do, but it seems the...

New Moustache
I am sitting in my living room sofa, listening to Hanna Hukkelberg. I have gotten married, grown a new moustache, and I have two new cameras. My mom left me a Sony Handycam digital video camera, and my Ricoh Caplio GX-100 arrived yesterday. Photos of the marriage are here, and here. Photos of the moustache are forthcoming. (via smpl rss)

Khoi on Control - Joy Division movie by Anton...
Khoi Vinh has talked about lots of interesting stuff lately. Just as Last FM recommends me the original radio airing of Joy Division’s Transmission, Khoi is talking about coincidenses and the new Joy Division movie by Anton Corbijn. (via smpl rss)

Participant Relationship Management (PRM)
This post started out as a post on using JIRA as a communication tool, getting into 37signals take on the CRM, and eventually meandering off towards the term Participant Relationship Management, a term I coined to explain my vision of a high-tech tool for participatory culture and events. That thought led this text. I’ll post more of the thoughts on the way once I’ve edited them.Participant...

Fugu SCP for OSX
I’m not a unix shell kind of guy. I know my way around, and given time I can get stuff done, but I prefer something with a well thought out gui. Robert tried to help me get a dump of a database file from our server, using all sorts of difficult commands. Nothing was working. I couldn’t figure out the correct syntax for scp. I admit it, but I only spent about five minutes trying. Defeated...

(The Dentist)
I try to get a few moments to myself each morning so I can think about what to do next, or to write or draw something that’s on my mind. This morning as I was brushing my teeth I was reminded that I have a broken tooth. See, I was eating a hard salty liquorice candy this weekend, and suddenly my bad tooth broke. It’s been drilled and filled, so I didn’t feel any pain, but half of the...

No batteries
The battery in my camera is dead and so is the one in my mobile phone, which also has a camera. It’s a 2 megapixel simple thing, but it actually takes some quite good pictures if you learn how to use it. But the batteries are dead as I sit down to clear my mind on my way to work. Pen and paper are all I’ve got to record the splendour of autumn in stockholm. Of course I fail...

Pixelmator vs. Photoshop: The Lasso Tool
I wanted to believe so badly. I wanted Pixelmator to be a sleek and simple replacement for Adobe Photoshop. But alas. Today I had to revert to using Photoshop yet again. Photoshop, in spite of it’s clunky and messy interface, has become like second nature to me. I use only a very limited set of tools for creating web graphics and editing the occasional photo, so I was hoping that the shiny...
